John W. Robertson
John W. Robertson was born in Moline, Illinois. He received his undergraduate degree from Ripon College (magna cum laud) in 1968 and his law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1975. He concentrates his practice in the areas of civil litigation, commercial litigation, insurance coverage, personal injury and commercial transactions.
John served as an officer in the United States Army from 1968-1972 and is a combat Veteran of the Vietnam War. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Knox County Bar Association, the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel and the Illinois Appellate Lawyers Association.
John is serves on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel. From 1979-1999, he was a member of the Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Civil Jury Instructions. He also served on the Advisory Committee of Local Rules of Procedure for the Federal Court, Central District of Illinois, from 1994 until 2011. John was selected for inclusion in 2011 Illinois SuperLawyers and was selected as Illinois Leading Lawyer.
In the Galesburg community, John has been an active member of the Galesburg Lions Club for more than 20 years. John is past president of the Club, a Melvin Jones Fellow, and has been named Lion of the Year.
