Thomas G. West was born in Galesburg, Illinois.  He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Northwestern University in 1962 and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Chicago in 1965.  Tom received his C.P.A. in 1963.  He concentrates his practice in the areas of school law, corporate law, real estate, probate, and estate planning.

Tom was an instructor at Wisconsin State University, Whitewater, Wisconsin in 1965-66, an Assistant State’s Attorney for Knox County, Illinois in 1966-1967, and an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Illinois – condemnation from 1968-1976.  Tom is a member of the Knox County Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association & the Illinois School Law Attorneys Association.

Tom served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Carl Sandburg College from 1971-1975.  He served as a member and a term as President of the St. Mary Medical Center Areawide Board, 1981-1993 and as President of the St. Mary Medical Center Foundation, 1993 to 2005.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors of IFMC-IL an organization dealing with healthcare in the State of Illinois.  Tom is a member and past President of the Board of Directors of Temple Sholom.
